SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Monique Voiret, a visual artist and member of the «Maison des Artistes», professional association from 1992, lives and works near Lyon, France.

Since 1986 she has participated visual arts exhibitions in France and sometimes abroad. For several years she also participed in consultations of interventions in public art where her works take on their full meaning in an open dialogue with the environmental, architectural and historic context of the locations.
Her scientific and artistic studies, she found in the computer tools a «virtual workshop» specific to the development of her research.
Then, she designs installations often with an architectural dimension which involves the interactivity of the spectator where the text, the image or the light are used in that they reflect a place or a reality in our society. This allows her to move from large works to smaller works that are in situ; always in dialogue with the space where the works take place and users of the site.

She worked in collaboration with Mr. Beauvais' Parisian agency of architecture, AMB, for the artistic aspect of the renovation of the hospital center at Lyon-Bron.
Currently she works with Archidentaire (directed by architect Daniel Jacquet) for artistic personalization of reception areas in medical offices.

«I am a visual artist with always a sight of photographer and I like to integrate an architectural scale in my installations. I use the tools of the new technologies for the design of my works, and often create them with very simple materials such as wood, glass, metal, the fabric of clothes or the frame of a door or of a window...
After several years work on an architectural scale or urban space, I return to thevconcept of an interior place, more private, within limits of a frame...
I always seek to create a different dialogue with the viewer, where he remain an actor in the reading of my suggested proposal even if he must open a door or half open a window... »
